Family Medicine Residency Program
We are excited to introduce our inaugural Family Medicine Residency Program at Mission Regional Medical Center, welcoming talented physicians in July 2025.
Mission Regional Medical Center is focused on supporting the community and influencing the future of healthcare through education. This comprehensive 3-year program offers 6 positions in each postgraduate year (PGY), providing a total complement of 18 Residents.
Our Family Medicine program foster dynamic learning environments that prepare future physicians for career success.
Our Mission
The Mission Regional Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program’s mission is to educate and train compassionate family medicine physicians who will provide high quality, comprehensive, evidence based care to all patients in any practice setting. We are dedicated physicians and educators who strive to cultivate an atmosphere of inquiry, knowledge, respect, wellness and lifelong learning through a curriculum that is innovative, flexible and reflective to the need of our residents and our community. In this, our residents will become leaders to improve and inspire the health of our patients and the quality of life in our communities.
Our Family Medicine Program aims to:
- Provide a collaborative, supportive environment for training future leaders in Family Medicine that fosters professional growth and resilience, and well-being;
- To inspire and encourage a commitment to serve as advocates for their patients, within the communities and with a focus to serve the underserved, through community outreach programs and local health organizations.
- Cultivate an educational environment that promotes innovation, scholarly activity, quality improvement, health promotion and prevention.
- Develop and graduate competent, compassionate well trained Family Medicine physicians who will provide comprehensive, evidence based care in the area and effectively address the unique healthcare needs of underserved and marginalized communities.
- Maintain a strong and diverse faculty with a wide range of expertise who model full spectrum family physicians; and
- Model the practice of sustainable, lifelong family medicine that utilizes a team based model and provides integrated excellent patient centered care.
