Prime South GME Consortium/Mission Regional Medical Center

Family Medicine Residency Program

Welcome to the Prime South GME Consortium Mission Regional Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program. We are thrilled to welcome you to our Family Medicine Residency Program—a place where innovation, compassion, and community come together to shape the next generation of family physicians.

Launched in July 2025, our inaugural class of residents joined us in making history as we build a program deeply rooted in excellence, service, and education. Over three years of comprehensive training, residents will gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to provide high-quality, patient-centered care across the full spectrum of family medicine.

At Mission Regional, our vision goes beyond training exceptional doctors—we are investing in the health of South Texas, serving a vibrant, primarily Hispanic border community, and preparing residents to lead in both local and national healthcare settings. With four positions per year and total of 12 residents in our Program, our program offers the perfect balance of a close-knit learning environment with the strength of the Prime South GME Consortium.

Whether you are a future applicant, community partner, or patient, we invite you to explore our program and share in our mission to transform care, empower physicians, and inspire healthier communities.
