PALMVIEW, Texas, June 2026 – Mission Regional Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, will host a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, June 16, for the new Palmview Emergency Department, a department of Mission Regional Medical Center.
The $10.5 million investment reflects Prime Healthcare and Mission Regional Medical Center’s continued commitment to expanding access to high-quality emergency care for families, working parents, school-age children, and patients of all ages in western Hidalgo County. Once complete, the new emergency department will provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Mission Regional Medical Center also extends its sincere appreciation to the City of Palmview and to the Palmview Municipal Development District (PMDD) for their collaboration and partnership in helping bring this important healthcare project to the community.

The facility will be staffed by experienced emergency medicine providers from Mission Regional Medical Center.
The community is invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, at 400 W. Veterans Blvd. in Palmview, just north of Expressway 83.
