H-E-B is once again a proud supporter of the Mission Pink Walk/Run for Breast Cancer Awareness. H-E-B leadership and hospital representatives gathered at Mission Regional Medical Center for the $5,000 check presentation. The store has sponsored the Mission Pink event since the first walk in 2009.
“We are thrilled to continue our involvement with this important initiative,” said Linda Tovar, H-E-B Border Region Public Affairs Manager. “Promoting early detection of breast cancer and women’s health is a key priority for H-E-B.”
Javier Iruegas, CEO for Mission Regional Medical Center stated, “Support from H-E-B is very important in our efforts to bring awareness about this disease. These partnerships, along with the participation from the community, are what make the Mission Pink Walk so successful. We are very grateful for such tremendous support.”
Mission Regional Medical Center will host the Mission Pink Walk/Run on Saturday, October 6th at 7:30 am. This year, Dina Herrera, news anchor for KRGV News Channel 5 will emcee the pink event. Lou Anne Sarashene, principal of Perez Elementary School will share her survival story with the hundreds of attendees.
Registration fees are $10 for children (ages 7-12), $15 for teenagers (ages 13-17), $20 for breast cancer survivors, and $25 for adults 18 years and older. Participants can register the morning of the walk at 6:30 am. Those interested in early registration can sign up at the hospital Business Office, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm.
