Mission, TX – Get ready for a day of heroism, inspiration, and community spirit at the 15th Annual Mission Pink Walk Run for Breast Cancer Awareness & Treatment.
On Saturday morning, October 12, at 7 a.m., Mission Regional Medical Center will transform into a vibrant hub of love and support for those affected by breast cancer. This family-friendly event promises a memorable experience with prizes, music, food vendors, educational presentations, and much more.
This year, our theme is “Tiaras on track for a cure!” and we invite you to join us in the battle against breast cancer. Together, we can make a difference. Our slogan, “Her Fight is OUR Fight,” embodies the unity and determination needed to overcome this disease. By participating or sponsoring, you will directly contribute to saving lives. The proceeds from this event will provide free digital screening mammograms to uninsured women over the age of 40 residing in the Rio Grande Valley.
As the first and largest 5K walk/run of its kind in Hidalgo County, Mission Pink has become a symbol of hope and resilience. With up to 2,000 participants of all ages, this charity event brings our community together in a powerful way.
Kane Dawson, CEO of Mission Regional Medical Center, extends a warm invitation to everyone in the community, saying, “I cordially invite you to be a part of this life-changing event. Let us show our unwavering support for every woman fighting breast cancer as we walk and run side by side. Together, we can and will conquer this battle!”
Breast cancer continues to affect countless lives, with statistics showing that one out of every eight women born today will face this disease. The pandemic created additional challenges, causing delays in screenings and potentially leaving women’s health at risk. However, we refuse to let this deter us. We urge you to become a superhero for the women in our community by participating or sponsoring Mission Pink. Remember, “her fight is our fight!”
The excitement begins at 7 a.m. on October 12, with inspiring presentations that will set the tone for the day ahead. At 7:50 a.m., the walk/run will commence on the grounds of Mission Regional Medical Center, located at 900 S. Bryan Road in Mission.
