Children and parents alike dressed up in costume at the spooktacular event at Mission Regional Medical Center.
Trick-or-treaters of all ages attended the 11th Annual Halloween Safety Fair hosted by Mission Regional Medical Center on Thursday, October 24th.
Approximately 2500 people enjoyed the costume contests and dance performances at the spooky, fun-filled event. Reflective trick-or-treat bags, glow-in-the-dark necklaces along with Halloween safety information were provided to all children. “This event gives us an opportunity to share valuable, life-saving information to children for Halloween night, all while having a good time,” said Evelyn Sáenz, Marketing Coordinator.
Hospital employees volunteered their time at the annual event. Department staff decorated, dressed in costume as well as gave out candy and safety tips to the children. Lilliam Santana-Barrera, Volunteer Services Director, said, “The tremendous success of our Halloween Safety Fair is largely due to so much support from our own hospital staff and other local organizations.”
Mission Police Department performed fingerprint identification to 500 children. Important safety tips were offered by the Mission Fire Department. Student groups from La Joya, Sharyland and Palmview High Schools gave out candy and organized fun games.
