Mission Regional Medical Center (MRMC) was presented with a $55,000 donation from the hospital volunteer Auxiliary. The contribution was made during the annual Auxiliary Board Installation meeting at The Club at Cimarron. The donation will be designated for various service lines.
Mission Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Board President Russ Winters presented the donation to Javier Iruegas, CEO. “Monies donated are part of the overall support our volunteers provide, “ said Winters. “We also donate our time to help provide the best patient experience.”
Approximately 100 volunteers donate their time each year, amounting to 28,000 hours in volunteer service. Individuals such as Nancy Martinez and Annemarie Becker have contributed 1,000 hours and 900 hours respectively.
Monies donated are the proceeds from the Mission Regional Medical Center Gift Shop. In order to generate more sales, the Gift Shop holds several bake sales, jewelry sales, book fairs and other fundraisers. ” I am honored to work with such a great group of dedicated and caring individuals. They give of their time to help our patients, family and staff,” said Lilliam Santana-Barrera, Director of Volunteer Services. “Our volunteers do an excellent job representing our organizational values,” added Santana.
