Mission Regional Medical Center’s Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) Laboratory represents our commitment to helping our patients win their battles against heart disease. Our Cath Lab plays a key role in helping our team diagnose and treat cardiovascular disease as well as help prevent heart attack and stroke in our patients.
The Cath Lab is equipped with the latest filmless digital imaging equipment, including an all-digital x-ray cardiovascular imaging suite. The rooms also have new monitoring systems that connect to a central database location.

Our Cath Lab performs a variety of cardiovascular interventions, including:
Cardiac Catheterization
The procedure used to diagnose and treat some heart conditions, allows the physician to examine blood flow to the heart, look for blockages in the arteries and see how well the heart is pumping. Read more about heart catheterization.
Carotid Angiography
Invasive X-ray imaging procedures are used to detect the presence of narrowing or blockage (atherosclerosis) in the carotid arteries.
Coronary Angiography
A procedure that uses X-ray imaging to see your heart’s blood vessels.
Coronary Stents
A tube is placed in the coronary arteries that supply the heart to keep the arteries open in the treatment of coronary heart disease. Learn more about angioplasty and stents.
Pacemaker Implantation
A small device placed under the skin of your chest or abdomen to help control abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias). Read more about pacemakers.
Transoesophageal Echos
Uses sound waves to create very high-quality moving pictures of the heart and its blood vessels.
Digital EKG
