Children in the Pediatric Unit at Mission Regional Medical Center had some special visitors recently. The Dallas Cowboys dropped by to say hello and lift their spirits.
The players mingled and chatted with the children, putting smiles on their faces, and capturing the hearts of the children’s parents.
“This is why we’re here, to make them smile and have a good day through the sickness and some of the health issues they are facing. It’s great to see them smile, said Tony Hill, Wide Receiver, (1977-1986).
“We had some awesome players come and visit with our kids,” explained Javier Iruegas, CEO, Mission Regional Medical Center. “We are grateful that Dallas Cowboys players took time out of their busy schedule to spend some time with the children, their parents and the staff here at the hospital. Everybody really appreciated the gesture of the visit the joy they brought.”
SpawGlass Construction President, Rene Capistran sponsored the visit to the hospital. “We are committed to our surrounding communities and actively support involvement with different organizations. We leverage our partnerships with organizations such as the Texas Legends Cowboys Stars and Tony Hill to go to hospitals and bring a smile, hope and words of encouragement to children and parents who are struggling with devastating illnesses,” said Capistran. “The people of the Rio Grande Valley are tremendous fans of the Dallas Cowboys and for many, this is a once in a life time chance to visit, shake hands and take pictures with members of the team.
We are blessed to have such a strong relationship with the Dallas Cowboys and this is a great opportunity to share that relationship with the dedicated organizations that do so much for the people of the Rio Grande Valley,” added Capistran.
